Project News: The Bududa-Nabweya Gravity Flow Scheme in Bududa District, Uganda, targeted to serve a population of 63,000 persons and is expected to connect 1,200 households to safe and clean water. 800 households were successfully initially connected to safe and clean water. The project was completed and launched in March, 2018.
In March 2018, the people of Bududa district were all smiles after the contractor handed over the UGX 22-billion Bududa Nabweya Gravity Flow Water Scheme to Bududa district officials after its completion.
The Director, DWD in MWE, Engineer Aaron M. Kabirizi told jubilant beneficiaries at Bududa district headquarters that his ministry is relieved that the contractor met the stipulated target.
“I am happy to announce that we are now commissioning Bududa Nabweya Gravity Flow Scheme that started as early as 2013 by constructing a treatment plant. Now that it is complete, about 1300 households will be connected to the grid,” Mr Kabirizi said.
